And Steve Jobs copied….Due to the innovative mind of Steve Jobs, Microsoft copied [..]
Don't forget IE 4 on Windows 95, with its "Active Desktop". Hyperlinks everywhere, including on the now-single-click desktop icons!EDIT: Though it really started with Windows XP's use of hyperlinks as UI elements outside web browsers. Like, in the file system browser, the settings panels, etc. Utter bollocks.
Ha, exactly. I bought the original Mac (128k) in 1984 - the bundled writing software (MacWrite) could only hold 4-5 pages. Anything longer had to be written (and printed) in multiple files. And the alternatives were...
Actually his first film was “Malibu Hot Summer”, a soft porn film released in 1981. Definitely his worst movie. He tried to buy the rights to it but they had already been sold to Troma. Also, the Lisa gave Kevin Costner his start…
What's that beige thing with the curly cord that he holds up to his head and starts talking to? I guess it is like an Apple watch -- which I use for phone calls, but then he should have used his watch. What a stupid ad.Also, the Lisa gave Kevin Costner his start…
I've used the minivmac for many years to be able to continue to access an app I developed in or about 1992.Oh man-- please someone release a Lisa simulator for Mac!
Jobs didn't copy.And Steve Jobs copied….
HUGE fan of the computer history museum, do yourself a favor and swing by if you're ever in NorCal
Almost neighborsThanks, this is a great idea for my upcoming mini-vacation in Spring (I didn't make any plans yet). Go to NorCal, and finally get to see the Apple Mothership Campus, and then I wonder how far from Cupertino to the CHM? They are all in the area of Silicon Valley, right?
An Apple Silicon version is in Beta. Thanks for the tip, it's on my waiting list.I've used the minivmac for many years to be able to continue to access an app I developed in or about 1992.
Can't thank the author enough for this and highly recommend it. Works fine under Ventura 13.1
In before "Apple didn't develop anything. They stole it all from Xerox."
Ahh Snow Leopard, the dream operating system. The most productive I’ve ever used. Still runs fine on my 2007 iMac. I waited many years before finally jumping to post Lion versions and went back to SL as soon as I replaced the iMac. Too bad SheepShaver cannot emulate MacOsX or can it?I'm waiting and hoping (against hope) that we'll get something like this for Snow Leopard. I'm not holding my breath and I know I'm way more likely to get a high-five from a resurrected Steve Jobs than it is for this to happen. But I can dream, can't I?
As opposed to the Lisa's unplanned obsolescence? It was obsolete in less than 2 years.Something that won't be able to be done with today's planned obsolescence, cloud tied and battery based tech.
All build to fail someday.
It's still usable, not up to date, but usable. As opposed to the Lisa's unplanned obsolescence? It was obsolete in less than 2 years.
Man, it’s not my birthday. 😢Happy 40th birthday, abject failure!
