Something strange is afoot on my Mac.... I have iTunes open constantly in the background (assigned to Space 2), but lately (for the last week or so) I've been finding my computer has been switching to iTunes on the other desktop seemingly at random...

It seems to happen a lot when I quit an application. I searched around a bit online and found other people had a similar problem, fixed by deselecting an option in Mission Control settings ('When switching to an application, switch to a Space with open windows for the application'). I deselected this and also restarted iTunes and it seemed to stop when quitting applications, but then it did it when I woke my computer from sleep thismorning and now seemingly every time I wake my machine the same thing happens. It also seems to keep switching to the same playlist in iTunes but that might just be a coincidence....

The other weird thing was that once after it switched to iTunes by itself, there were two iTunes icons in my Dock - the usual one was showing as closed but there was another iTunes icon open at the far right end of my dock which disappeared when I closed the application....

Anybody else finding this?

It may not be the same problem, but I had iTunes turning on by itself, and was wondering why.

I finally realized that when I am using remote control on my Apple TV, if the direction is right, the IR signal reaches my iMac. If you have remote control enabled on you Mac, the remote would turn iTune ON.
