Computer name appending numbers at the end?

Hi all,

On my leopard machine, I'm seeing that it's appending numbers at the end by itself. I can see this in:

- login screen
- about my mac (attached screenshot)
- on another Mac, in the Finder, where I can see the machine name

Can anyone explain why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?
