To all those who have had a computer replaced warranty: was your replacement a new computer or refurbished?

I got my 15" antiglare feb 2011 replaced under Apple care with a brandnew mid 2012 model. Right of the shelves.

apple NEVER replaces with refurbs unless it was originally was a refurb.

I once had an iBook replaced by Apple after countless logic board failures. The iBook was originally a refurb but they replaced it with a brand new sealed retail box MacBook, so I think even when refurbished Apple usually goes with the new replacement route.

The Apple store was aware that my 2012 Mac Mini was open item purchase from Best Buy but it was replaced by a brand new one.

Depends on the country but they are probably legally bound to replace with a brand new one if thats what you had in the first place
