I now have snow leopard on my 24'' imac and also upgraded her Ram to 4 gigs. And now she seems to be running slightly slower than usual. For example when I scroll over the dock I used to be able to see the names of the applications and they would magnify in size. Now nothing happens. They just sit there until I click on them. The same is happening with drop down menus. Before I could scroll over them with ease and now I have to click on them (sometimes more than once) to get them to work.

My roommate suggested that I run disk utility on my imac. I tried to verify disk permissions and got the dreaded "no valid packages" error. And free space on the hard drive should not be a issue right. I currently have almost 200 gigs of open space left.

Any help is appreciated.
