I agree; I've had sporadic problems; with this as well. Sometimes unpause / pause works; often times not. It may be related to file size; I wasn't paying attention to that. Bug reports from customers can be submitted here: https://www.apple.com/feedback/appletv.html

I had this problem.

HERE’S THE FIX.

Turn off Dolby Atmos.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Go to Video and Audio.
3. Scroll down and select Audio Format.
4. Toggle Change Format to On.
5. For New Format, select Stereo.
6. Done.

You’ll be able to play and pause content from the Computers app without a problem now.

This bug seems to be back now running the tvOS 15 beta - is anyone else having the same issue and able to find a work around? Setting the audio format to stereo doesn't help.

I have some bugs in specific programs. I can’t get Disney+ to turn on close captions much of the time, I can’t jump back in adult swim. Maybe a few other things. But it’s been identical in every version of tvOS I’ve used so far, 15 didn’t change anything that I’ve seen.
