All I get is a black screen with the message "The uploader has not made this video available in your country."

It's very nice to see the Internet being used to connect people world-wide, without any discrimination.

edit: I was able to watch it here.

edit 2: Wow, just watched the video about the Samsung Store. Funny how the guy talks about how they "designed" the store and all, seeing as it's nearly a carbon copy of an Apple Store.

yeah you would have to read the whole post to get my point though. I know the Samsung chips in the iPhone are 100% legal. I'm just trying to say that bashing Samsung as some worthless company, as many people on this forum do regularly, is kind of ironic since Apple itself uses Samsung tech to make our iPhones great.

Give them a spec and they can copy it. That's why they are a great supplier...but a terrible design house.

Just in case you missed it the first time. Just everyone breeze through this and see the reality. It made me sick.

This patent war is getting really stupid. Samsung ripped off the iPhone. So did a dozen other companies.

Samsung was making nice phones before Apple, as well as nice products across the board. I don't defend them for ripping off the iPhone design, but they were and still are making great products aside from phones. Also lets not forget that there are Samsung components in our iPhones. They are a good company who made a big mistake and called Apple's patent defense bluff and they will pay their dues and move on. Businesses do this kind of thing all the time without getting caught. The difference here is Apple is worth more than some countries and they have a lot of funds dedicated to legal so Samsung didn't get away with it.

Also Conan > All other late night.

You could be right, apart from the Conan bit, I've never found him funny. However I despite the laughs I don't think apple will win this case.

It couldn't have taken a team of writers to come up with that, surely. I did spot some gags in there but they were clunky in the kind of style that the script they were in was written for them in.

This is just crazy! I thought the Samsung Store pics I had seen before were just photoshop. I'm still in disbelief that Samsung went as far as this with their new "Brand Store." It looks just like an Apple Store. If this was side by side with an apple store in any Mall in America, it would just look like apple has two store entrances. It would be interesting to see how many people would walk into either store and try to guess which store they really walked into. "Someone in the Samsung store, do these phone cases fit my iPhone?"

That is just ridIculous. That looks nothing like the apple stores. Those geniuses have collared shirts. :D

That is an amazing document. I think anyone interested in interface design should read it. The iPhone's interface almost seems obvious when one uses it, this document very clearly illustrates how much thought actually went in to it.

It also suggests that Samsung tried to implement an abrupt change in UI philosophy. At least they had the balls to, at least internally, admit that they had been caught with there UI trousers down and then to try and analyse where they went wrong. Unfortunately rather than continue the effort and come up with their own UI language they took the short cut of cribbing off of Apple's effort. Having looked through this document I feel no doubt that Apple are right to attack Samsung. Whether they will win or not I have no idea though. The law is not really something that deals with justice, it is more a mechanism in which to present and try and win arguments within a frame work designed to make justice pop out the other end.

That Samsung make nice other stuff and that other companies crib off of Apple is completely irrelevant. The Kray brothers loved their mum, they were still gangsters. Hitler was a vegetarian and a Nazi. The Queen is majestic but she still takes a dump. And if your argument that there are Samsung components in the iPhone and so it is ok for them to copy it, does that then make it ok for the chicken population to start going around impersonating me cos there are some poultry parts in my stomach?! I think not!

Conan Who?

Conan....isn't he that one guy that was popular ten years ago that got canned by NBC? Who knew he was still on TV.

I can't see a similarity here?

However in these shots you can clearly see that Samsung was copying Apples "ladder placement" in the back right of these store shots! What Shame!!!

If you had read my entire post you would have understood that I was agreeing with you before you ever even replied. Nice rant though.

Thanks for the link.

Funny how Youtube thinks less of me because I live in Australia.

Well guess what youtube, I managed to watch it thanks to this forum!!

People will always find a way to get what they want if you release stuff to a limited audience.

I just cant wait to get fibre and have a permanent VPN set up between here and Kansas City!

What a pathetic excuse for an innovative high-tech company Samsung is. I hope their personal electronics division has massive restructuring and losses after they lose this case.

Good luck defending this one Samsung lovers!
Unfortunately, they seem to have their own brand of reality distortion fields operating as witnessed here:
https://www.macrumors.com/2012/08/0...laxy-s-by-adopting-iphone-solutions-surfaces/
The usual suspects are there as they are in every android related thread.

So what!?!? Apple invented a new way of thinking about phones and what they could be. And, honestly, if you are going to develop a phone with a touchscreen from here on out, how different can it possible be from an iPhone!? Apple should spend their time designing a better phone instead of suing everyone else out of business.

They did invent a new way of thinking about phones, yeah. But take Nokia lumia as an example of the possibility of making a phone different from iPhone. Both the design and the software looks very different.
But I still know what you mean. With touch screens filling the front of every phone you are limited as to how different it can look. But when you can't design the keyboard different you have to design the software differently.

That's satire.

THIS is reality:

After reading that line, I think my work on the internet is done. :D
