Apple is working on three iPhones for 2018: one that's an upgraded version of the current iPhone X, one that's essentially an "iPhone X Plus" with a 6.5-inch OLED display, and one that's lower cost with with a 6.1-inch LCD screen.

The most recent 2018 iPhone rumors have suggested that the two OLED devices could be offered in a new gold color, with Apple returning to its traditional gold, silver, and space gray color lineup.

Taking this rumor into account, designer Lee Gunho has whipped up a quick concept video that demonstrates what a gold glass-backed 6.5-inch "iPhone X Plus" might look like.

The short concept video also incorporates a second rumor suggesting the largest 2018 iPhone might incorporate dual SIM functionality, which would make it easier for iPhone users to switch between carriers, a feature useful for traveling.

2018 promises to be an exciting year for the iPhone, and all three of the devices that Apple has in the works are rumored to feature the same general design as the iPhone X with an edge-to-edge display, a notch at the top for a TrueDepth camera system, and, of course, Face ID support.

I've seen a couple of renders and curious to know why do people imagine the double sim as two separate physical sim card. I'm thinking that Apple could probably do an e sim and a physical sim and save space.

Almost like an Apple ad... impressive.

One thing that caught my eye is the chamfered rear camera housing. I think that may have been an oversight last year.

And isn't the notch rumored to be smaller. I guess this Lee Gunho hasn't read that bit yet.

I personally liked the Blush gold rumor that we heard about last year. Maybe this is still a possibility.

Apple would never show off a SIM card slot in an ad. The whole video was credible until that part. I know it's the only thing that is rumoured to change besides the size but still...

I have major doubts about Apple putting 2 physical SIM cards in the next iPhone. It's all about simplicity and making things smaller, adding this just for a subset of users who think it's nice to have is not their style.

People seriously need to get over the camera bump. It's not going away.

To be fair, apparently I have the same problem with my Canon 5D. The lenses protrude from the body SO BADLY. And I never noticed till now...

Honestly, the bump is helpful for aligning 3rd-party lens solutions that I use in my line of work. Precision lens mounts simply fit around the bump which makes it easy while increasing the accuracy of the alignment.

If someone is going to imagine a future concept, would they not eliminate the notch?!? So little imagination.

Clever. How often would you say you put that 5D in your pocket, or set it down on its lens?

Never put my 5D in my pocket. Does the iPhone X lens cause you issue with it in your pocket?

And to the latter question, I've never put the phone down on its lens. I use an Apple silicone case, because slippery iPhone. And thus.. the phone is flat on the back.

I guess you have to ask yourself whether it's worth the MASSIVE trade-off in picture quality by having a flush lens. I say it's not.

I think the OP is thinking more about better/thinner lens technology paired with a phone design that would help eliminate the bump, not going back to old lenses that were thinner as a way to get rid of it. Also, there are some of us out there that *gasp* don't use cases on our phones as we like the design of the phone itself.

Every real Apple ad makes me cringe. They all do. The last one that was really great was the new Mac Pro sneak peak at WWDC 2013.

This mock up promo though was excellent. It gave me a little shiver up my back. Why can't Apple make an ad great like this? They should hire this dude - but then he'd be forced to do stuff their way and nothing would change. Same lame ads. Sigh.

OH, so that's how they they would do dual-sim cards. I always imagined it as two external slots and thought that would be stupid and unlikely. I feel like a dumb now. Makes more sense on the Plus since it has lots of room for battery, but if they keep shrinking the logic board we could see it on any model. However, virtual sims are probably the future.

But no matter how good the tech is, having a thicker lens is ALWAYS going to be better. Quite honestly, if you like the design of the phone itself, the camera bump at the very least makes it easier to lift the phone off the table, since if it sat flush it'd be a little more tricky to lift off a flat table, no?

I agree. Tbh, I have no idea what 2 SIM cards is for and never heard about that until this rumor. I'd ask someone to explain, but I don't care.
