AT&T can't. We already have 4G according to their advertisements. And I have a 4G data symbol on my iPhone 4S.
So why would they change there policy now
Okay my question could've been misread. To confirm 100%: will the unlimited LTE data cost more than what 3G is right now?
If you pay full retail for your phone, and currently have an unlimited data package... your phone bill and plan will stay the same. [with Verizon at least].
and YES.. it will be the same price. If you update your phone early, or if your contract is up and you opt to get it for the new two year agreement, they will force you into the shared everything plan.
Verizon works like so if you dont keep unlimited data & pay in cash full retail.
$40 starting for each phone on shared everything plan.
$10 for every gigabyte you use after the traditional 2gb over your shared data.
Monthly Account Access (including unlimited shared minutes & messaging)
1gb shared- $50
2 gb shared-$60
4 gb- 70
6gb- $80
8gb- 90
10gb- 100
and $10 for any extra after 10gb.
say you use 4gbs... that's $70. Add on the smartphone fee of $40... Your total bill will be $110.
If you go over your data limit.. that's $10 each gig, even if you're only 5mb over...
Versus... Verizon's old way.. 89.99 unlimited everything + $29 data package = $129.
I'm on AT&T...so will the LTE unlimited be more?
If you have the grandfathered unlimited data from AT&T, your bill should not change one penny once you switch to the iPhone 5 and LTE. They may change that in the future, but as of now, they haven't.
I checked on the plan, and I am positive now ,that they will grandfather my plan. ATT told me just call them before initializing the phone.
