I've showered with mine, worn it in the rainforest with 100% humidity, and wore it during a trip to the Iguaçu Waterfalls both in the mist under the falls and during the boat ride going into the waterfalls themselves. Nothing so far, 42mm SS BSB.
You guys are aware that the user's guide says to not bathe or swim with it, right? And that the IPX7 rating is basically saying it's ok for walking in the rain or washing your hands (that level of exposure to water). It's water resistant, not water proof.
It's going to be very interesting to see what Apple does with these claims.
IPx7 doesn't 'basically' say any such thing. IPx7 is a specific test (No ingress of water in harmful quantity while immersed in 1 meter of water for a minimum of 30 minutes) that must be passed to meet certification. Nothing else is stated or implied beyond (or below) the test. Anything else stated is at the manufactures discretion....And that the IPX7 rating is basically saying it's ok for walking in the rain or washing your hands (that level of exposure to water). Watch is waterproofed to the IPx7 standard. If rated ATM 5 then waterproofed to that.
Watch to ATM 5 (actually about ATM 4.5???) with no problems (he is still using the same
Watch for fitness testing) so Apple clearly is being extremely conservative with their usage wording and probably even the IPx7 rating. I suspect the gen 2 will be ATM 5 rated. Had my stainless at the beach last weekend. Went swimming in the salt water and built sand castles with the kids. They're solid outta the box but will probably loosen up with time.
