I had AT&T since 2007 with the original iPhone and when I have done conference calls there is always a button next to the text to see all of the callers on the call so I can hang them up individual or all at once. Now that I have the iPhone 5 this button is missing entirely for Verizon. Also the merge call is delayed to 1 minute into a call, when on AT&T it was once they picked up you could merge anyone else waiting on the line. Any ideas?

CDMA voice has limitations on how many people may be on conference calls as well as a time delay that GSM/HSPA+ does not. I want to say that you can do a 3 way call but that is about it. You may not be able to do them at all on Verizon, I'm not sure. I just know that that was one of the advantages listed to sticking with AT&T for business customers.

Apple lists the differences between CDMA (Verizon) and GSM (AT&T) functionality here:

Basically: GSM supports better, more-integrated voice calling features. With CDMA (and Verizon), you're pretty much SOL on the conference call thing. You also can't place calls on hold with Verizon.

I figured LTE fixed that, guess not...sucks.
