Confirm code help

Hi,

Ive just bought my first mac. So far im doing ok (i think).

Got a little problem i need help with.

When searching some forums or putting passwords in it asks to confirm the code in the box, but all im getting in a blue box with a ? in it. What do i need to do to display this box as it should be?

Not sure if this is posted in the right place (sorry if its not) i just assumed it would be a app to fix this.

Check your vid settings. It could be one of those letter boxes that computers can't read, but you need to enter them to go further.

Yeah i believe it is one of them little boxes.

Where do i find my vid settings?
