This pretty much makes the sport watch the worst possible choice. I don't want to be stuck with a rubber band. If I got one it would be the stainless steel.

That just means when you buy it, he didn't say anything about how to buy separate bands.

From the way he talked it made it seem like bands were not interchangeable.

This just means I'm getting the Sport and waiting on third party bands

Not once did he talk about customizing with different bands or buying more for different occasions. You would think someone would have mentioned all the different customizations you could do with different bands as this was one way for :apple: to make a lot of money.

Considering the range of prices on the Watch model, who is going to get a Sport and then drop $500 on a band?

Yes he did. When that lady Christy came on stage, she said she used rubber for her training, and the blue modern buckle as her fashionista.

I'm pissed I still don't know how much the one I want specifically is (Milanese loop)

Christy Turlington Burns had at least two bands for her Watch. I would assume she has the sport watch seeing as how it was exercise focused, but the pictures weren't exactly clear. But it does suggest that you can buy the bands separately.

Confirmed no swapping bands between models.

Prices are in accessories on Apple store, Milanese Loop is 199$ in Canada ImageUploadedByTapatalk1425927222.202754.jpg

So they are interchangeable. I saw the release buttons on the back of the watch on the Apple site just a few minutes ago, so it makes sense.

This makes me feel a lot better. If I'm on the fence about the fancier bands, I could start with a stainless steel with a sport band, and then buy a nicer band later on (maybe as a birthday gift for myself the following year).

Nothing on the website mentions compatibility. I guess when he spoke in my quoted comment he was talking out of the box most bands available.

The only distinction the website makes is wether its the 38mm or 42mm. no mention of the model spec. IMO this clearly means that any band can be bought for any model as long as it's the right size.

Pretty sure third parties will be making bands too? Would be a good way to avoid apples ******** pricing for bands.
