I'm a little confused on how Apple's Backup software works. The first time I ran a back up it did a full back up. And then every back up after that was an incremental back up. I'm not sure if I like how the new Backup does this in contrast to the previous version of Backup where it just updated one file changing only files that have been updated since the last back up. But perhaps that's because I don't understand how it works now.
I have several different back up 'plans'. And each week a new incremental back up is added. At first I was under the impression that each new incremental back up only contained files that have been changed. If that is the case then is it ok to delete previous incremental back ups to conserve space on the HD? I read the Help file and seems as though with all these incremental back ups that I have multiple versions of files that have been changed; somewhat of how Time Machine is going to be.
So do I need to keep all back ups Backup does or is it OK to delete old ones? Any info is appreciated. 🙂
