How come, when visiting websites in Safari with saved login information, Face ID scans your face and then automatically enters your username and password into the appropriate fields? On other phones, like my iPhone 7, Touch ID was never used to authenticate that process. I’d simply go to the website and Safari would automatically fill in my username and password as soon as the page loaded...then I just click “login.” I ask because Face ID seems to be slowing the process down. Granted, it only takes an extra second or two to scan my face and populate the username and password fields, but it’s a slower process than Touch ID. Plus, if for some reason it can’t authenticate your face due to an awkward angle or something, it makes the entire process take a good amount longer. I guess my question is: why does Face ID on the iPhone X have to authenticate the user before recalling a saved username/password while other iPhones do not? Thanks.
