Confused about purchasing the iPhone3G

I just recently (May 2008) got a contract with AT&T. I am on a family plan with 2 regular phones and 1 smart phone (1st gen. iPhone). I have a regular phone (LG Shine). I'm confused. Do I have to wait until my contract is over, which is 2 years from now, buy the phone at $400 like the previous iPhone, or get it at $200 or $300. Also, how much will the plan increase? We already have an unlimited data plan for the 3 phones.

$30 per line. I have a family plan (3 lines) as well, but only one line is getting an iphone. The data plan is $30 for one line, plus extra if you want to add texts. I think it is $5 for 200 SMS.
