I currently have an iphone 5 and a windows pc. My parents plan to buy me a tablet or a laptop for my work. I have these few choices
    1. Stay with my iphone 5, buy a nexus 7 and a macbook air
    2. Stay with iPhone 5, buy an iPad 3.
Do you think the nexus 4 needs the LTE speed or hspa+ is enough? Or should I wait for the galaxy s4? I live in singapore(no it's not a part of china, it's a country) where the nexus 4 will come the earliest by January, and I'm still not sure of the price.

If you didn't understand the previous paragraph I'm making it simpler

I want to use both pure android(which are the nexus devices) and ios at the same time. Should I get the nexus 7 and the iphone 5, or sell my iphone 5, get the nexus 4 and the ipad mini?

Lol. I hope most people know that. Have you had much experience with an Android or iOS device before?

Yes I do, I owned a htc wildfire s before I came to the 5. Looking at the UI of the nexus 4 and 7 tempts me to use them, but I'm afraid that it might lack some of the apps that I use oftenly on my iphone. I do not have any purchases on my iphone so I don't mind switching.

Which apps? You could always browse the Play store to make sure that Android has the apps you need.

The htc wildfire s only has the old android market which has far less apps then the google play store

In that case you should be just fine with Android. You mentioned that the Nexus 4 will be released in January. In that case, you might want to wait until the Galaxy S4 is released, especially if the Nexus 4 isn't discounted like it is in North America. I don't have much experience with tablets, so I won't comment on that.

Ok I have made my decision, I will buy the nexus 7 and MacBook Air and stay with the iPhone 5. Do you think I would be better of with the ipad 4th gen and the nexus 4 or should I choose the 1st choice?

only you can really determine what works best. Personally, I think apple tablets are still the best on the market b.c of the apps. If I were going to replace anything it would be the iphone with a nexus 4.

How many apps do you use? Only having 5 apps that you use in the Play Store doesn't sounds promising at all.

    I'd say go iPhone 5 + a Windows 8 Pro tablet. :)

Do you all think there will be any noticeable difference between 1080p videos on the iPad 3 and 720p on the MBA 11"? If you were to choose to buy either of these 2 devices, ignoring the price, which would you buy?

I would get the nexus 7 and MBA and keep the iPhone 5 given those options.

Personally I'm not a fan of the iPad 3 (I have one). Get the iPad 4, much more powerful.

What would you do with the nexus 7 if you had it?

Sit down and make a mental list of what you want to do at your desk, on your sofa or on the road.

The iPad is great for media consumption, casual gaming, convenient web browsing and email, note-taking and light productivity apps. It is "instant-on", is lighter and has better battery life than an Air.

The Air is a full-blown, general-purpose computer that is far more flexible and capable than an iPad. It's not over-endowed with computing power c.f. the larger Macs but its more than good enough for most domestic and office computing. The screen and small-ish SSD is a limiting factor, but you can add external storage, an external display, keyboard, mouse if needed. It is not so much of a 'sofa' device.

If you want something to complement your existing Windows PC for 'casual' use, get the iPad.

If you want to move from Windows to Mac OS X as your main computing platform then I'd go for the 13" Air at a minimum. Or maybe go Mac Mini + iPad.

(As for the Nexus 4, max. 16GB and no SD card slot is a deal-breaker unless you're planning to get a good data plan and move your media to Google Play....)

    Typical consumption device.

I actually use an iPhone 4S and a Nexus 10....

I rarely use my desktop and don't have a laptop. The Nexus 10 can pretty much do anything I need a laptop to do.
