I have 2013 MacBook Pro which has Thunderbolt 2 + HDMI ports.

Do I use the T2 with USB-C adapter?

Use a USB-C to HDMI adapter with the LG display and use HDMI out instead?

I think the 4K display is not compatible with older macs with thunderbolt 2 ports. It only works with macs with USB-C (i.e. MacBook 2015, 2016) or Thunderbolt 3 ports (like the latest macbook pros)

the 5k is compatible with older machines, with adapters, but not at full 5K resolution.

Really? That's stupid. Come on Apple....

The details on this display is fuzzy and confusing.
