Confused by music in OS4

Hi, can someone explain why when choosing to play music on the watch the option to select iPhone has gone, yet when playing music on the iPhone the watch allows control and shows what is playing? Why is it one way only?

Hi, can someone explain why when choosing to play music on the watch the option to select iPhone has gone, yet when playing music on the iPhone the watch allows control and shows what is playing? Why is it one way only?

If you start playing music from the phone, you go to the 'Now Playing' app on the watch, which controls music from the phone.

If you start playing music from the watch, you go to the 'Music' app on the watch, where you can play anything from Apple Music, which would be the streaming subscription stuff, or the library on your phone.

Thank you! Still seems odd that the watch now only allows iPhone control when started from the phone!

Apple wants you to use the new Streaming Music app on the watch which is not yet available. They say later this fall.
