I just took a look at the pre-order process on both verizonwirelss.com and apple.com and am confused that both seem to be inclined to let me add a new line to my existing grandfathered unlimited family plan - without changing it to the new Share Everything plan.
What we have is an old "AC FamilyShare Plan 400" with two smart phones both on unlimited data.
Previously I have been told by VZW customer service that any change to the plan would force a move to a new Share Everything plan.
Both the Verizon and Apple websites took my initial contact information and then asked if I wanted to add a new number. Saying yes to that led to a screen that let me specify the new number as a "America's Choice FamilyShare Second" with $20 a month service and $30 for 2GB data. Total of $50/mo.
When I go through the pre-order screens without identifying my current plan, the only option they give me is a Share Everything plan with $40 a month service and the standard data prices ranging from $40 for 300GB on up. If I got it with the same 2GB offered withe the FamilyShare it would total $100/mo.
Is this a glitch in their systems and this isnt really a valid option, or can I actually add a new line to my old plan and keep the existing phones on their unlimited data?!? I'll call Verizon when they open in the morning, but I'm used to them not always telling the whole truth...
