Confusion about Apple Pay in App

So a lot of apps allow Apple Pay as a method of purchase, however many that advertise the feature don’t give me the option to pay with Apple Pay

For example in the attached pic is Apple Pay buy now option in the Apple store app. I grabbed the pic from google. Yet in my Apple store app, there is no option to pay via Apple Pay.

Why is this? I live in New Zealand which has official Apple Pay.

From my understanding a lot of apps have it enabled on a per region basis.

For example in the attached pic is Apple Pay buy now option in the Apple store app. I grabbed the pic from google. Yet in my Apple store app, there is no option to pay via Apple Pay.

That's because Apple has restrictions on Apple Pay acceptance in that app, for example in Australia for nearly 2 years Apple Pay in the Apple Store App would only work with a American Express/AMEX card. This has now been extended to other card types in Australia.

Why is this? I live in New Zealand which has official Apple Pay.

I believe Apple does not support Apple Pay in the Apple Store App in New Zealand or on the New Zealand website from the last bunch of reports I got. And I have just confirmed I'm not presented with an Apple Pay button on the web I'll get some others to check the app later.
