    Hi all,

    I just purchased a refurbished iMac 27" 3.5GHz i7 8GB (G0PG4LL/A).

I was looking on the OWC site and it looks like the stock ram in my Mid 2012 15" 2.6 GHz i7 Macbook Pro 9,1 is the same kind as in the refurbed iMac, unless I read it wrong, hence this post.

We have not taken possession of the iMac yet, so I cannot check the ram of the iMac. But will need to get it up and running fast this weekend when it comes in for a job.

Since I replaced my stock ram from my Macbook a while back, I have had this stock ram sitting around forever. The old Macbook Pro ram is 2 x 4GB, which I believe is the same as the iMac refurb. If I combine the 4 dimms together it will give the iMac 16GB @ 4 x 4GB.

My question is, will this work? Will this work the same as if I bought 16GB option from Apple? Are there any issues with doing this?

Here is the info from the sticker on the old Macbook Pro ram:

    Hynix CHINA 01
    4GB 2RX8 PC3-12800S-11-11-F3
    HMT351S6CFR8C-PB N0 AA 1235

Thank you for any and all help.
