So my iPhone 6 Safari has developed this pop-up. It’ll appear after several seconds on various websites. Clearing all data doesn’t help. Can’t find much on this from any site that seems reputable.

Running 11.2.2.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Much appreciated.

Use a content blocker. Same thing happened on my mom's devices when she accessed a certain part of a news site she goes on. I couldn't figure out why it kept redirecting her, so I just installed AdBlock and it was fixed.

Any idea why we’re not all getting this? It’s happened to me on MacRumors.

It probably has happpened to a lot of users. Not everyone is going to create a thread about it however. It’s happend to me and I didn’t.
Well I don’t expect everybody to create a thread, but I figured if it were widespread we’d have heard about it by now. I guess not. Good to know you experienced it too. I’ll find a way to report it.

I have AdBlock on my iPhone. I don't get ads in Sfari, but that annoying "Amazon" ad pops up in Words with Friends.

This method solved it instantly for me...

Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data > swipe left on the trouble website to delete

I had tried clearing browsing history multiple times, rebooting the phone, etc, to no avail. Deleting the trouble website from “Website Data” fixed it right away. I didn’t delete any of the other websites except the one that kept having the pop-up...for me it was www.bbc.com.

FYI, my phone is iPhone 6 on iOS 11.1.1

I used to never see these things, now I see them much more. I cannot figure out where they are coming from, I even see them come up in apps like local news apps and facebook.

If I am posting this question in the wrong place I apologize in advance. I am on my last nerve with the problem I have.

“Amazon Congratulation Pop Up”

This pop up happens mainly when I go to ESPN.com but it also has popped up on other sites including this one.

I have tried others suggestions of deleting history & cookies. I have went into Settings>Safari> and cleared History & Website Data and I went a step further Settings>Safari>Advanced>Website Data and cleared it also. I have tried resetting & rebooting to no avail. Can someone please tell me how to make this pop up go away?

I have a iPhone 6 using IOS 11.2.5

I am including a snapshot of the pop up.

Thanks

Actually, i believe someone mentioned the other day that this is malware. Clear your safari cache and cookies and it should stop showing up.

here:

@MICHAELSD posted this the other day

My iPhone X had been experiencing lag which I simply could not explain for the past few weeks other than assuming that iOS 11 was poorly optimized since the A11 Bionic chip should be a beast. After dealing with “Congratulations Amazon user” popups intermittently on almost every site I visited, I decided to clear my Safari data and my iPhone X immediately went from inexplicably lagging every few seconds to becoming a silky smooth experience. Performance is night and day.

In my decade of iPhone ownership, I’ve never experienced anything like this. Somehow, what I’d have to assume to be malware had infiltrated my Safari cookies and was affecting my system performance.

I’m on 11.2.5, the latest iOS version.

P.S. A quick Google search shows that others’ phones have been infected. There’s even a thread with users here not realizing exactly what is going on. Thankfully this is as simple as clearing Safari data, but I’m surprised to see this on my iPhone. Apple has superb security and I’m sure it’s an anomaly, just a heads-up

Adguard or Adguard Pro does an excellent job of blocking nasty things. I have the lifetime license for the Pro version for iOS and Mac, and it has done what it is supposed to. Customer support is very prompt.
