Does anyone even read Time anymore? It's really old news by the time it hits newsstands. Nothing remotely analytical about it anymore either.

And the winner of Time Magazine's Person of the Year 2006 goes to YOU. Congratulations! Acceptance speeeech, please. :)
Well at the very least this will look good on my resume! :D ...Mind you I don't blog, or post on YouTube... so really I'd like to thank MR for allowing me to take my .000000000000000000001th of a percent of the credit for this award.

If they were going for an interesting concept, I would've thought "The Iraqi People" would've been a bit more deserving.

I hardly think people who upload video's of themselves putting fireworks up their backsides or blog about what they saw at Tesco's this morning are deserving of a person of the year award. Very gimmicky.

I'm lovin' the Cinema Display and Apple keyboard on the cover. :D

that looks like the GUI to divx player....
but i could be wrong (and have been)

It is certainly youTube and the keyboard we all know and love.

But what if it was an iMac!

Don't they share the same stand?

So does this mean that I get 20:06 minutes of fame or do have to share it with everyone else limiting me to about 0.000000201 seconds of fame?

I must have registered a Director account I didn't know about on YouTube, to be able to upload a movie longer than 10 minutes. ;)

But I don't understand how they have been able to keep track of everything I've been up to. Still nice to finally get some recognition for all my work. Shall put this in my portfolio and add it to my CV.

This brings my plans to get a nobel award forward by about 10 years - i had best get on with discovering/changing something/anything/nothing.

It'll take more than this to get me reading Time.

I would like to thank mad jew for all the times he voted for me. Also to mad jew for making as many posts as he does on this forum. And a final thanks to the MR gods for not yet banning mad jew. :D :p

Cool Concept.

The cheque's in the mail. :p

What a lame concept. I expect better out of TIME, but lately most of the MSM have been disappointing. The Daily Show had a comment about this, how we're taking up the slack for the media via blogs and such, so it's kinda ironic that they're pointing it out.

I thought Gore was going to get it. Seemed like the obvious choice. His rise from the ashes to finally put environmental issues back on everyone's mind has been impressive. It took an incredible amount of work to push past all the FUD spewed by the oil industry/GOP, but he did it. And not only that but the public awareness of the GOP's deliberate attempts to cover up the truth and destroy scientists who wouldn't be bullied has awoken the country to the larger crisis of republican perversion of science in public policy.
Really? The only thing I've heard about Gore lately is that "documentary" he put out. Got me what he actually says in it though. I've only seen the cover.

And I, of course, think the cover of Time is LAME.

An Inconvenient Truth (the documentary) showed that Gore had the balls to shovel out all of the B.S. about global warming a present the facts in a simple scary-but-true format. Commendable, at the least.

Times honors person of the year--You

photo10ly6.jpg

a lengthy article about the ppl at this information age, including youtube, blogger, flickr, BT, google, cragslist, amazon, iTunes etc.
interestingly, the cover is apparently an iMac with a apple wireless keyboard. hehe

I'd like to thank my manager. I'd like to thank my attorney. And I'd like to thank God, cause it's not really up to me, it's up to him. Makin' da world go round.

That's should be familiar to Family Guy Fans.

it was in 1939, and person of the year doesn't have to be good person, its history, good or bad, written by human.
