Connect 144hz monitor to 2017 MBP nTB.

Hi. I have a question regarding connecting a monitor to the MBP via a dongle.

I'm planning on buying this monitor: http://www.samsung.com/sg/monitors/led-shg50/

and connect it via HDMI port in monitor to the HDMI port in this dongle: https://satechi.net/products/satechi-slim-aluminum-type-c-multi-port-adapter.

HDMI - HDMI. The monitor has 144hz. Will I be able to experience 144hz refresh time through the HDMI connection? Or do I have to connect it different to enable that?

I'm quite novice about this. Please help.

Use a thunderbolt to Displayport adapter.

USB-C to DisplayPort cable is likely better than going through a multi-port adapter.
You would have to test that to see if you connect at 144hz.
