is it possible to connect two mac minis to one monitor, instead of connecting two mac mini to a monitor.

the reason is i want to see both mac mini on one display if that is possible, so i can copy files across easily. and do other stuff as well.

can i use a thunderbolt cable to speed the latency of data?

    I don't think that'll work for you.
What I use is DropCopy, a really useful application for copying files, data and even the contents of your copy-clipboards between computers.
Mind you this requires that each computer has its own screen which is not all that uncommon.
If you have 2 mini's and only 1 monitor then maybe consider connecting the 2 minis via FW or Thunderbolt cable and booting one in Target disk Mode, then it'll show up as disk drive and you can copy files back and forth this way.
