I just bought a new Logitech C922x webcam. I've got a 2020 Mac Mini, so only one USB-A port, which already has my Dell sound bar attached. I was hoping to connect the webcam through either the USB port on my Dell U2715 or a powered USB Hub, which connects to my mini through USB-C. Neither of them work. It seems that my Mini only recognizes the webcam if I connect it directly. However, as mentioned, I already have my soundbar connected directly, and the soundbar wont work if I connect it through a hub.

Any suggestions?

There could be a problem with the USB-C Hub. It could be a technical or a compatibility problem with the hub to the device. I have the Logitech StreamCam Plus webcam and I connect it to my 2019 Macbook Pro with my USB-C Hub. I use the NOVOO 8-1 USB-C Hub which has three USB-A ports. I use one of the ports to connect to the webcam. I've had the USB-C Hub and the webcam for just over a year now and I have not had a problem with either yet.

My Logitech Brio 4K is plugged into one of three USB-A ports on my Thunderbolt 4 hub, connected to my M1 MacBook Air. No problem running through the hub.
Sounds like a problem with the hub on your machine. Try connecting to one of the Thunderbolt ports via a USB-C to USB-A adapter.

I'm facing same issues with a Logitech C525 connected to a Dell U3419W. Connecting the cam to the MacMini directly works fine. I've also tried an Anker USB-C hub and an active USB-A hub. Didn't have much luck with those either.

@Hrothgar Could you solve your issue?
@xraydoc Which hub do you use?

OWC Thunderbolt 4 dock.

Same issue with a C922 connected to the built in usb hub of my Dell U3421WE monitor. C922 is not recognized. When connected directly to my laptop the C922 works.
A cheap Chinese webcam works fine through the USB hub... So problem is with the C922.
