Hi, I would like to connect my MBP M1 Max to an LG 24In Ultrafine (LG 24MD4KL). The LG Monitor only accepts Thunderbolt 2 or 3. What cable or adaptor do I need to go from the HDMI port on the MacBook to the input Thunderbolt on the LG?

Thank you!

Thunderbolt 4 is backward compatible so you would use the USB-C ports on the MacBook.

Thank you. The other USB-C ports on the MacBook are being used. Is there a way to connect the HDMI port on the MacBook to the input Thunderbolt on the LG?

I don’t think that’s possible.

The monitor has a USB-C hub so your peripherals can connect to the monitor if you plug in the monitor. Otherwise, you’ll need a Thunderbolt dock.

You can't connect the HDMI out from the computer to the display because the display doesn't have an HDMI port. As @JPack said, you can connect a peripheral to the display to free up a computer port or get a hub.

LG 24MD4KL can also take normal (non-Thunderbolt) USB-C input. Use an HDMI 2.0 to USB-C adapter like the Club-3d CAC-1332. I am not 100% sure it will work because LG UltraFine displays are weird (no buttons).

But you should be using a dock or the ports on the display to connect devices so that you don't have to use inferior HDMI (it's limited to 8bpc for 4K60).
