Hi, I am using a Macbook Pro. I just bought a G Raid 2TB drive. I am going to use it to compile all of my data in past years from video editing. I have a few old Lacie 80-120 GB storage drives that I want to connect directly to the new drive to make one central backup of all of my old data. Can I do this?

The Lacie drives have USB and Firewire 400 ports. The G RAID has USB and two Firewire 800 ports. My 13" Macbook Pro has only one Firewire 800 port.

Can I connect the G RAID to my macbook via the 800 port and then connect the Lacie direclty to the G RAID (400 to 800 cable) and then transfer files? Will the Lacie show up on my desktop? Or do I have to go from the Lacie USB to my computer and then out via the 800 port to the G RAID?

Thanks in advance,
Rob

Yes to these. That's how you'll want to proceed.
