I really like the new Photos app in OS X. It's currently the hub where I keep and organise all my photos.
I would like to use iCloud Photo Library, but I'm not willing to pay.* I have 7GB of photos and growing.
What would be great though would be to use Photos on OS X and plug it into Google Photos (instead of iCloud Photo Library) to take advantage of their unlimited photo storage.
I don't want to just use the web - I prefer native apps (I use Mail on OS X with my Gmail account) - and I like that, if I don't have an internet connection, I can still access my photos from my laptop.
*If there was the ability to store the first 5GB of your photo library in iCloud - and have the rest archived on my Mac - I would go for that.
