Staying in a hotel and forgot to bring my Apple TV remote. Is there any way to connect to my Apple TV to control it with the remote app? I can only stream to it via AirPlay just fine. Have tethering on my iPhone but obviously can't connect the ATV to my iPhone it since I don't have my apple remote.

Did a search and guess my key words don't bring me much help. Thanks.

Are you on the hotels wi-fi?

I doubt it as he would need a remote to connect to the network ...

I don't suppose the ATV comes up if you look in settings > bluetooth > my devices on your phone does it? I know when I set up my ATV, I just held the phone near it and it found it

Hmmm. Honestly don't think I've tried to look at my BT settings to see if it pops up. Maybe I'll try that later tonight. I might also stop back at home after work and grab my remote lol. I think I definitely want to add my phones hotspot to my ATV to avoid another future hiccups so it would automatically join.

Thanks!

Back home and tried setting it up for future and some reason, the Apple TV won't even see my iPhone's wifi hotspot. Guess it wouldn't have worked regardless?

Even setting up a Bluetooth remote, doesn't see my iPhone and my phone doesn't see the Apple TV.
