I have two MBPs and I am trying to wirelessly connect their hard drives to each other. They are both on the same Wifi connection. The router is an airport extreme, if this is of relevance.

Is it possible to connect the two together, ie have one appear in the other's devices section in finder? I just want to make file transfer as fast as possible.

Thanks!

Home networking you mean?

Home networking might be the term.. I don't know

I've looked into the sharing side of system preferences and I still don't understand how to go about setting it up

Any help would be great

Settings / Sharing / File Sharing, and + whatever folder you want to share.

Ahh I get it. Sweet. Thanks so much.

The connection I use is ultimately shared by about 30 other people.. can you password protect this sort of access?
