is it possible to transfer data between two G4 powerbook using a firewire cable connecting both of them using the firewire ports. If so how do I do it?

boot one up while holding down T and it will boot up in target disk mode, then you can plug it in to the other one like a normal firewire hard drive.

Or, you can go to System Preferences/Network, Network Port Configurations, then add the firewire port.

This should let you connect using the "connect to server" option in the Finder, just as if you were on an ethernet network
