I've got an older 24" LED Apple Cinema Display (not Thunderbolt Display) that I would like to connect to my 2012 MacBook Air. I know the LED Display's are a little different than the Thunderbolt ones, but it should connect and work right?
The three cables coming from the display are MagSafe, USB, and Mini DisplayPort. Does anyone see why this wouldn't work?

If it has a minidisplayport connector, plug it in and see what happens. I think it should work. I am using an even older Apple 23" Cinema Display (1920x1200) with my 11" 2013 MBA and it works great. It also worked great on my 2011 13" MBA. But my display has a DVI-D connector, so I am using a MiniDisplayPort adapter.

It also works fine when I connect it to the pass-through port on my Seagate Thunderbolt dock.

Sounds like u like one more adapter: Thunderbolt to Mini Display Port.

No, they are physically the same.
