I have a Logitech 5.1 surround sound system that I used on my PC. It's nothing special, under 100 bucks. I was wondering if there is any way I can hook them up to my Intel iMac. The speakers have the standard 3 plugs that plug into a PC's 5.1 surround sound card, but there is only one output on the iMac...Am I missing something? I searched and found nothing, thank you.

iMac has only one analog output. If you want to continue to use the 5.1
analogs, you are going to need an external soundcard capable of 5.1 that is
mac compatible. Right now, there are not very many devices being made.
M-audio use to make the Sonica Theatre, but has been discontinued.
Griffin's Firewave has yet to be released and I don't think they ever will.

Just to clarrify, its an optical out on the current series of iMacs (optical digital audio output) so if you had a receiver that could accept this and then output to the inputs your system has then it would work. I am guessing this wouldn't be cheap...
