iOS Connecting a iphone to a medical device

Hey guys,

Wonder if anyone has any experience or advice,

I'm looking to connect a medical device via usb to the iphone so it can take data off it , I've been told that the device talks to PC's not macs via terminal and uses the above settings

Bits per second: 9600
Data bits: 8
Parity: none
Stop bits: 1
Flow control: None

The device is a tonometer which measures eye pressure in both eyes so will give out 2 readings

Is this possible and if so how ?

You should probably look into the Made for iPod and Works with iPhone Licensing Program if this is anything other than hobby-level interest.
