Connecting a printer via Cambo USB2.0 & IEE1394 firewire hub

I have Mac Pro and I'm attempting to connect my Epson 4800 printer to the back of the tower via a Cambo hub. The hub connects into one of the USB ports, could this be the issue? I can see the USB items pluged into the hub, just not the firewire. HELP!😕:apple:
