Connecting external monitors to 2017 iMac

Hi there!

Currently using a late 2013 MBP connected to a 27in Dell UHD 4k Monitor - P2715Q and an LG 27in 27EA83R-D monitor. The Dell monitor is connected by a Mini DP to DP cable and the LG is connected by HDMI

My plan is to use the Dell as a 2nd display AND maybe the LG as a 3rd for my 2017 iMac.

Would USB C to Displayport cables fit the bill?

• 4.2GHZ QC I7, TB UP TO 4.5GHZ
• 64GB 2400MHZ DDR4 - 4X16GB
• 512GB FLASH STORAGE
• AMD RADEON PRO 580 W/8GB VRAM

You would think so, but I can tell you my 2017 iMac doesn't recognize my Dell external monitor with a brand new USB-C to Displayport cable.

SCMedic didn't plug his cable in fully which is why it did not work. Now it does.
