I've just ordered a Dell 2405FPW monitor to use as a second display for my Intel iMac. I'm a bit unsure on how they will connect together, the Dell monitor comes with a "1 x 15-pin D-Sub and 1 x 24-pin DVI-D cable", I assume what I need to get is this cable, am I correct, and/or do I need anything else?

Many thanks

yeah, as quality gos for your screen:

DVI>VGA>component>s-video>composite

just use the DVI for your imac.

DVI-A = analog over DVI
DVI-D = digital over DVI
DVI-I = both over DVI

all cables are compatible unless they use mini plugs.

your imac outputs both digital and analog over it's mini DVI port and it's going into the digital output of the 2405FPW thus it's digital all the way through so a DVI-D cable suffices and it's all digital thus all good.
