Connecting macbook to external sound system

    is is ok to use the headphone jack to do that?
    someone told me it isn`t good for the macbook, but i dunno

    it's OK

    No problem. I play my MacBook sound through my digital AV receiver, with a mini to toslink audio cable.

    I already have an audio cable laying around so buying something else (especially expensive =p) isn`t a good option now. Anyway, I will try to look for a deal on airtunes since it has integration with iTunes and might give it a try!!

    I hook up a speaker set via the headphone jack all the time, past 8 months on MB and now MBP never had an issue with it.

    Well, I do that with my iPods all the time :p
    I`m new to notebooks so I`m still learning what`s ok to do and what isn`t
