Any luck with the Samsung? I'm also trying to connect my MacBook Pro into a T220HD (with MiniDP-to-VGA adapter). It works otherwise, but it still thinks I should check the cable. See photo: http://img.skitch.com/20090228-r8sxt7esm7hs6h9hfnsu2cx6x4.png (Tarkista signaalikaapeli = Check signal cable). Isn't there any way to just dismiss that?

I've also tried this with a Mac mini, and it works fine without any annoying messages on the screen.

You've already had better success than me! I get the "Check Signal Cable" message on the screen without any actual screen pictures.
Sorry, I wish I could help further.

Is there anyway to hook up a monitor like this and run dual screens? Or do you need a cinema screen to run a dual setup?

Hi, I am new to the Mac world and this forum... Guess what, I also have just brought a T220HD to go with my macbook. I connected via DP to VGA and get a picture but a "check signal cable" message and many of the symptoms being referred in this post... I am about to return it but before I do I wanted to know if the HDMI option worked? Thanks.

Just a quick follow-up to my previous post on this topic... I applied the Mini-DisplayPort-to-VGA firmware update (have others done the same thing?), and guess what: my MacBook Pro now works flawlessly with the T220HD using VGA connection. I don't get that nasty signal cable message anymore - it just works

OK, stupid question on my part - where did you get the firmware update? When I looked at the Samsung website for support, I couldn't find anything & I have downloaded all the "Software Updates" for my MB, but I was not aware of any firmware update for the MDP port.

Thanks!

Hey guys, new member here so be nice :p

Just ordered a Samsung T220 from Pixmania should be here next week to go with my MacBook 2.0ghz...

Though thinking i should of researched before i ordered after reading all these problems.. I'm planning to connect it via VGA have ordered the MDP -> VGA.

Just wondering if that f/w update has sorted the issues for everyone?

Cheers

I profess ignorance about not knowing about the firmware update, so I actually returned my T220HD. Sounds like others have gotten it to work though...

Has the VGA update been successful for anyone? I have the dvi MDP adapter but it says 'no signal', so if the VGA update works i'll go get the MDP VGA adapter.

Thanks. :)

Got my Samsung T220 today hooked it up via VGA to my Macbook Alu, works perfectly, the VGA adapter i had already had the latest update so obviously the update does work :) heres a pic....

Let us know if you have success. I've already return my TV but if your adaptor works, I may still consider another Samsung TV as opposed to eliminating them altogether.

The HDMI adapter took its time getting to the Netherlands. But what a clear picture! Worth the wait. HD tv series playback perfectly, movies are a different story.

I have managed to connect my macbook to our samsung LCD TV successfully but initially could only see the desktop and none of the applications. I have now changed the display setting by ticking the mirror display option on the Arrangement tab. Hope this helps!
