Connecting MBP 09 to TV

Hi,

I have a mid 2009 MBP and I wanted to know how I could watch movies running on the MBP on a TV (with or without HDMI)? I want the connection to be reasonably hassle free and quick. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. 😀

Just a follow up question:
I got a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, which works fine but for audio I got that optical cable thing. However the optical cable won't go into the MBP. The cable I got is this one:

I thought the MBP supported optical audio.
