While on vacation I may want to bring my laptop with me and it is not the one I set up Itunes with. Is it okay to use it just to charge my Touch?

Yes it is.

iTunes will open and you will get a dialogue box asking you if you want to sync with the library on the laptop and to transfer purchases. Just choose the 'no' option and you will be ok.

It may say its syncing with iTunes but it won't be.

Do make sure you eject the iPod from within iTunes just to be sure.

You don't need to have iTunes installed in order to charge the iPod. i'm doing that right now. My laptop knows there's an iPod there, but isn't trying to do anything with it.

The iPod's happy that it's fully charged up.
