Recently got a new iPhone and I am running into an unexpected issue. When I got my car many years ago Hyundai provided me with a cable that plugs into the aux and usb on one end and then has a 30 pin connector on the other. Definitely a dated system but with my iPhone XR and a 30 pin to lightning adapter I was able to get both power to my phone and have it recognized as an iPod by the car so I could play podcasts and such over the cars speakers.
Well with the new iPhone 16 I’m looking for a usb c solution and it seems to be lacking. I tried a 30 pin to usb c but that only provided power, no audio. Looked at lightning to usb c adapters but seems like none of them are setup to provide support for music which I assume would be a dealbreaker here.
Any thoughts on the route most likely to provide charging and audio support? Suppose I could go with an aux cord and wireless charging, skip the car controls?
