connecting stereo problem

I have made the mini jack and RCA connections to my NAD integrated amp, as well as a powered SPICA subwoofer, but get zero sound from the speakers, which are connected to the amp, and muted sound through the sub. What am I doing wrong??

Check your system preferences -> sound to see if your stereo is available as an output from the drop down.
