Been trying to google my way to this without really managing it, so thought of using the vast experience of this forum.

I run a Lion Server with a fixed IP-address at my home in Norway. I have enabled all remote sharing / controll features.

I am in spain, but would like to get access to some online TV-channels I have access to when connected at home, but not outside of my home - and defenetly not outside of Norway.

I would love to be able to appear to be connecting from my home. I guess this can be done via proxy-settings, but I have not been able to get it to work.

I can screen-share my server, so I am able to change things there if needed.

Thanks!

At your home see if you can get the SlingBox and watch it either on your Mac, PC, smart phone and/or many tablets.

Not able to do that - and hoping for something not costing me any noticable $$$

Connecting to a VPN on your home server should do the trick. Have you tried that?

Sounds like something I would like to try!

Got any links to instructions?

It's not as easy as it ought to be. The exact setup depends on your network configuration. You'll probably have to do some port forwarding on your router, also.

Just a heads up: I've always had better luck connecting to Mac VPNs via L2TP, which you will learn about.

Just search Google for "set up vpn on lion server".
