I have a Aluminium PowerBook G4 (12"), and the display went out. I tried the shim, didn't work.
Then I had the brilliant idea to hook it up to my TV using the Mini DVI adapters that came with it (I got all types).

So, I hopped on my Mac Pro tower, hooked into the laptop using Leopard Screen Sharing, plugged an adapter and a VGA flat panel to test it... and nothing.

I can't get the extra display to come up in the system preferences.
Under System Profiler, under Graphics/Display, it says "No information found".
Is there a driver I need to install to get this to work?

Attached are two screenshots of the display prefs.

thats because, the resolution options for the TV will come up ON the TV, as in youll see that little res selection panel on the TV, not on the screen (shared screen) of your powerbook. 😀

Then why don't the resolution options come up on the flat panel monitor that I currently have my laptop plugged into?
