I just got an Airport Extreme and set it up with my MBP. But when I try to connect my powerbook G3 (Lombard) it doesn't want to join the network. So now I'm confused. I thought it could connect to any mac with a wireless card or is it only Macs with 10.4.8 +, I thought it only required 10.4 for setup.

I suspect the wireless card you have for the Lombard only supports 802.11b. Check the setup of the base station and make sure it's set for both "b" and "g".

Hope this helps.

Thanks that was a good guess but not the problem. I got it working though, not sure what I did. I tweaked a few settings manually and changed the pasword and then all of a sudden, hey, it let me connect. Thanx for the help.
