For one of my classes I am required to upload files to a folder accessed via command line. The instructor assumed that everyone is on a windows machine. The run instructions to do from a campus networked machine (windows) is as follows "\\citecs\cs120". I need to be able to do this from my laptop(OS X 10.5.6) in my dorms.

If someone could help me out, I would love them for ever and ever.

This forum has ample instructions on networking MacOS X with Windows. Since your instructor assumes that everyone uses Windows, then the network share that you need can most probably be accessed if you enable the SMB/CIFS network protocol.

With the SMB/CIFS protocol enabled, use the Go > Connect to Server... menu item to mount your network share on the Mac Desktop. You may navigate the mounted volume to the proper location. Uploading the file is a simple drag & drop.
