connecting USB-C enclosure to USB 3 Mac

Obviously question but I want to confirm since I only have a USB 3 MBP.

I'll be buying a USB-C enclosure for my Sammy SSD. That way it's future proof for my next USB-C MBP.
I can just buy a USB-C to USB 3 cable to connect it to my USB 3 MBP because both USB-C ends are the same right?

Aren't you asking us to confirm what type of plug is on your external hard drive housing without telling us what model it is?

Yes, you can buy a cable with USB-c on one end, and USB-a on the other, and use it with the MBP.

Should be no issues at all.

The USB-C enclosures I have purchased have come with both cables (-A and -C), so no additional cable purchase necessary.

As mentioned, there are many USB-C cables available to convert existing enclosures if you are careful about which connector style is on your enclosure.
